The 2018 Reaching Forward South Conference will be held May 11 at the Morris Center on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville campus. With a commitment to providing quality training and information, Reaching Forward South strives to be the premier professional development opportunity for library support staff in central and southern Illinois.
This year’s conference features four tracks of programming, including one on library disasters. Connie Estades of the San Juan Community Library, Puerto Rico, will present virtually on her library’s experience during Hurricane Maria. Sergeant Matt Breihan of the Edwardsville Police Department, will teach the basics of active shooter training. In addition to presenting a program, library lawyer Phil Lenzini will be available throughout the day to answer legal questions from attendees.
