M. Alison Eisendrath, Andrew W. Mellon Director of Collections at the Chicago History Museum, and Joe Filapek, Consulting and Continuing Education Manager for the Reaching Across Illinois Library System, have been selected as participants in the 2016 Collective Wisdom: Libraries, Archives, and Museums (LAM) Conference Exchange. Eisendrath and Filapek are among 18 librarians and archivists nationwide who were chosen for the program. The exchange is essentially a learning cohort that will enable participants from different types of institutions (libraries, museums, and archives) to build connections and develop ideas that will have an impact on user services. Participants will attend the following high-profile conferences together: the American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting & MuseumExpo, from May 26 to May 29 in Washington, D.C.; the American Library Association 2016 Annual Conference, from June 23 to June 28 in Orlando, Florida; and the Archives*Records 2016 Joint Annual Meeting of the Council of State Archivists and Society of American Archivists, from July 31 to August 6 in Atlanta, Georgia. Participants will also take part in several virtual activities throughout the year.

The program is sponsored by the Coalition to Advance Learning in Archives, Libraries and Museums, which receives funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and is managed by OCLC. Also, Dr. Clara M. Chu, Director and Mortenson Distinguished Professor at the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs in the UIUC Library, is on the Collective Wisdom advisory team and is a member of the Coalition. Congratulations to the Illinois participants!
