If you are looking for a way to recognize someone at your library for their dedication and hard work, now is the time to nominate them for an Illinois Library Association award! An ILA award nomination is an excellent way to express appreciation for their contributions to the community, the library, and librarianship.
Numerous awards are available, including the Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award, the Crosman Memorial Award for New Library Workers, the Deborah Dowley Preiser Marketing Award, the TBS Inc. Technical Services Award, the Alexander J. Skrzypek Award for Exceptional Service to People with Disabilities, and the new Innovative Programs and Services Award! Anyone–ILA members, non-members, frontline staff, directors, managers, coworkers, and even library patrons–can nominate deserving individuals for an ILA award.
The nomination deadline is Wednesday, May 15. More information, including descriptions of the awards and lists of past winners, is available here.
