This hands-on webinar is designed to assist librarians, public health workers, health professionals, and the general public in locating authoritative information on nutrition and topics relating to nutrition. Background information on the importance of nutrition information to other health-related topics will be included, and resources for locating nutrition-related statistics and evidence-based practice will also be identified.
At the conclusion of the class, participants will be able to meet the following objectives.
- understand the relationship of the topic of nutrition to health outcomes, diseases, and conditions
- gain a basic understanding of nutrition vocabulary and identify sources for definitions of relevant terms
- identify important Internet sites for locating nutrition information
- identify additional resources which provide print resources on nutrition topics
Elizabeth Kiscaden, Associate Director of the Greater Midwest Region, will teach the class, which will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM CST on Tuesday, February 21. Participants may receive up to four hours of continuing-education credit from the Medical Library Association.
