The Illinois Association of College and Research Libraries Forum (IACRL) is excited to announce the winners of this year’s OER Campus Kickstart: Award for Growing Illinois OER Programs. Thank you to the Midwestern Higher Education Compact for sponsoring this year’s awards! The following teams will each receive a $500 award as incentive to implement an OER textbook for upcoming courses in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters:
- Evangeline Reid and Renae Franiuk – Aurora University
- Charlene Snelling and April Andry Rah’man – Chicago State University
- Jennifer Funk and Timothy Ros – McKendree University
- Michelle Oh and Susan Uribe – Oakton College
- Lukas Wenner and David Dosier – Rock Valley College
- Robin Hofstetter and Vincen Francone – Roosevelt University
- Sangeeta Kumar and Juhelia Thompson – South Suburban College
- Tineka Scalzo and Dr. Cynthia Vessel – Wilbur Wright College
The final materials used in each course will be made broadly available using a Creative Commons license and hosted in the Open Illinois OER Commons Hub. Each pair of faculty and librarian collaborators will make a presentation on their experiences and outcomes to the IACRL membership. This could take place at the 2025 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference or an IACRL webinar.
