Trump to hold Friday news conference on coronavirus [The Hill, 3/13/20]
“…Bloomberg News reported he plans to declare a national emergency, a move that had been under consideration for some time. Declaring a national emergency would allow wider use of federal funds by state and local authorities, some of which have been overwhelmed by the fast-moving coronavirus. The press conference will come as House lawmakers are likely to vote on sweeping legislation to provide financial help to victims.”

H.B. 6074 “Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020” became Public Law 116-123 on March 6, 2020. This bill provides $8.3 billion in emergency funding for federal agencies to respond to the coronavirus outbreak.
