Do you want to participate in LITA’s AdaCamp, a one-day unconference for women in library technology, at ALA Annual in Chicago? Would travel funding help you to attend? Thanks to support from our sponsors, LITA is offering several $500 travel scholarships. The scholarships will be awarded competitively, based on the committee’s ranking of applications received by the deadline. More information about eligibility is below.
ALA Attendees are encouraged to participate in LITA AdaCamp if they meet the following criteria.
- identifying as a woman in a way that is significant to them
- participating in library technology (in any role)
- being able to participate actively in discussions about women’s experiences in library technology, including talking about women’s achievements and the challenges they face
- wanting to work together and share strategies to support and promote women in the field
- being young or old, students or professionals; hailing from a diverse range of backgrounds and types of libraries; and reflecting the breadth of librarianship
Scholarship applications will be ranked highly if they meet the following criteria.
- belonging to a group not well-represented in LITA, including, but not limited to, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+
- demonstrating an interest in actively contributing during the LITA AdaCamp.
These scholarships are intended for people who couldn’t otherwise attend AdaCamp. LITA can’t assess your financial need; we trust you to self-identify accurately.
