As the result of a recent resignation from the RAILS Board, we are looking for an academic library staff member from a RAILS library to fill the remainder of a term that ends June 30, 2023.
The successful candidate will be asked to actively participate in 11 board meetings per year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, board members have the option of participating in meetings via Zoom. They can also participate in person at our Burr Ridge service center or via videoconference at our Coal Valley or East Peoria service centers, provided that they meet social distancing and other safety requirements.
We are looking for someone to help keep RAILS up to date on issues affecting academic libraries and to make sure other academic library members are aware of all the programs/services RAILS has to offer. The RAILS Board Member Job Description provides more information on duties and requirements. RAILS also seeks candidates that reflect the diversity of the RAILS membership in terms of race, ethnicity, age, geographic location, background, and other factors.
If you work at a RAILS academic library and are interested in filling this important position, please complete the nomination form on our website by Monday, August 10. The RAILS Board Executive Committee will interview candidates and make a selection. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Witt, RAILS Marketing & Communications Director, at mary.witt@railslibraries.info.
