OASPA is excited to announce our first webinar of 2025, “Open access funders and enablers outside the library: fresh perspectives and lesser-heard voices”, will take place on Thursday, January 23, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM CDT.
Supporting open access (OA), and the transition to OA, needs money within the system of scholarly publishing to be redirected at a grand scale. We often talk and think about universities, institutions and libraries as playing a pivotal role. However, research funders and supporters of various types can make a substantial difference.
In this session, we hear directly from public and private organizations about their role in enabling, embracing and engaging with OA. Each speaker will bring their views on practicing and supporting OA research; the challenges they face when it comes to OA; and the questions they pose along with solutions they propose, to bolster innovation and help society at large through open scholarship.
