Join us August 21-24 for the 2023 IFLA WLIC North America Virtual Hub hosted by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
The Mortenson Center for International Library Program and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library are honored to be hosting and coordinating one of the regional virtual hubs of the IFLA 88th World Library and Information Congress (WLIC), which will be held August 21-25 (Monday-Friday), 2023 in Rotterdam. The goals of this year’s congress align with the IFLA Global Vision under the motto Let’s work together, let’s library.
To be held concurrently with the 2023 WLIC, the inaugural regional virtual hubs promote increased inclusion and participation from registered remote delegates (i.e., those not able to travel to Rotterdam). They aim to foster regional engagement and dialogue on topics related to IFLA and the congress by offering one daily session over four days, August 21-24 (Monday-Thursday), at a time of day appropriate to the region.
After careful consideration and preparation, the planning committee has organized four sessions that align with the key topics of the 2023 WLIC. These include indigenous library services, international cooperation, international LIS education, and generative AI in libraries. Details on the sessions for the North America Virtual Hub and Ambassador Evie Cordell <website>, and all other hubs can be found here. All virtual hub sessions are accessible to registered virtual participants, who can register here.
