The ACRL Contemplative Pedagogy Interest Group offers a series of informal online discussions on topics related to contemplative pedagogy in the college or university setting. Registration for the March meeting is now open. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 17, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM CDT. The topic is “Dreaming, Questioning & Practicing Together: The Brain Booth Initiative”, and a description is below.
‘There is a sanctuary on the second floor of the HSU Library. Turn right at the top of the main second floor stairwell, walk straight ahead and you will run into the Brain Booth. The relaxing feeling in the Brain Booth envelops the visitor, washing off the mental fatigue of the day.’
During our March discussion, we’ll hear how the Brain Booth has adapted to COVID-19 and what they might like to see happen in the future. We’ll then open up for sharing of ideas, dreams, or questions as we ponder new ways of doing and being as a library professional. Saying and testing it out loud can breathe life into our hopes and dreams as we witness and support each other.
