On behalf of the ACRL EBSS (Education and Behavioral Sciences Section) Curriculum Materials Committee, you are invited to the upcoming event “Role and Purpose of Historical Children’s Literature in Academic Libraries”. It will take place via Zoom on Monday, February 17, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT.
Join us for a series of lightning talks on the management of historic and classic children’s literature within academic libraries and the unique challenges and opportunities they offer. Participants will reflect on the different institutional and environmental contexts that inform the nuanced approaches of library personnel and better understand how different academic libraries approach these materials.
The ten lightning talks will be centered on one of three themes:
- Theme 1: Outdated Representation
- Theme 2: Continued Relevance/Importance
- Theme 3: General Upkeep of Collections
Following these, there will be a question and answer period as well as discussion questions so that participants can share their own experiences and work. We hope you are able to come!
Registration is required.
