Registration is open for the ACRL EBSS (Education and Behavioral Sciences Section) Scholarly Communication Committee’s online discussion “Robo-Schol: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Scholarly Communication”. It will take place on Wednesday, May 8, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT. Please see below for more information, including the link to registration.
Reacting to stories about Artificial Intelligence with fear and concern is understandable. What is harder is anticipating the kinds of situations in which we may find ourselves, as information professionals, in the coming months and years. The EBSS Scholarly Communication Committee would like to provide a space for exploring how we might deal with what comes next. Help us work through the implications and potential impacts of AI on scholarly communication in the library world. Speak with others about what support on your campus could better prepare you. Share how you are considering or have already integrated AI into your professional life.
Have questions or discussion topics you’d like to submit in advance of the event to help guide the conversation? Please contact Dana L. Hettich (dhettich@uab.edu) if you’d like to share these.
We hope to see you there. Click here to register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the meeting. This event will not be recorded, to allow for free discussion.
