The ACRL Instruction Section Teaching Methods Committee would like to invite you to register for our virtual event: “Teaching Material, Visual, and Political Literacy: Primary Sources in Library Instruction” on Monday, April 3, at 1:00 PM CDT.
Join librarians and archivists from the University of Kentucky as they share how they have used primary sources to teach a variety of information literacies. They will discuss collaborative instruction sessions focused on political science, racial equity and civil rights, de-colonizing collections, materiality and African American literature, as well as curriculum development for future K-5 art and social studies teachers. Presenters from diverse backgrounds will address teaching racial equity, collection gaps and silences, while analyzing the concept of community and inclusion.
Time for Q&A will follow the presentation.
