Join ACRL from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, July 24, for the Online Learning webcast “Digital Preservation – Foundations and Theory”. Please see below for more information, including the link to registration.
Many institutions have digital preservation programs in place. How did they get there? What principles of library work apply to digital preservation, and what foundational texts and standards apply specifically to the digital preservation world? Rather than focusing on technology, tools, and platforms, this webinar emphasizes the organizational and foundational understanding needed to choose and utilize technology efficiently for the best preservation outcomes. The webinar will provide a strong basis for librarians beginning digital preservation tasks, those engaged in these tasks who want to review their program and refresh their understanding, and managers and colleagues who may not be involved in this work but need to understand the work as it pertains to them.
