Join ACRL for its President’s Program at the 2021 ALA Annual Virtual Conference. Hosted by ACRL President Jon E. Cawthorne, this program will take place from 2:15 to 3:15 PM CDT on Thursday, June 24, live during the conference. Titled “Making Change: Organizing for Action While Caring for Each Other“, this program will feature Mariame Kaba, Founder and Director of Project NIA, and Dean Spade, Associate Professor at the Seattle University School of Law, with moderation by Emily Drabinski, Interim Chief Librarian at The Graduate Center, CUNY.
In this session, activists, organizers, and intellectuals Spade and Kaba will join us in conversation about how library workers can use organizing principles to fight against white supremacy and widening inequality through community action and mutual aid.
