Registration is open for the next ACRL Science and Technology Section Hot Topicsdiscussion, “Conquering Library and Research Anxiety: A Discussion for STEM Success”. It will take place online Friday, June 21, at 1:00 PM CDT.
The discussion will feature the 2022 article “Dispelling the Myth of Library Anxiety and Embracing Academic Discomfort”, by Kelleen Maluski and Symphony Bruce. Library anxiety and research anxiety in STEM are current topics of interest, and we will come together to discuss the role STEM librarians can play in addressing these issues. This one-hour session will include a short article summary, a commentary on research anxiety in STEM, and then a group discussion between participants with an open Q&A session. Speaker presentations will be recorded, but the discussion that follows will not be. Please read the article in advance to enable a more robust discussion.
We request that you register for this free online discussion. If you have questions about the event please e-mail STS Hot Topics Co-Chair Sandy Avila, at sandya@spie.org.
