Emergencies and disasters happen. How you are prepared to manage them can make all of the difference. We are excited to offer a unique learning opportunity that is focused on how to implement FEMA’s Incident Command System (ICS) into your emergency/disaster response. ICS offers a simple framework that any library can learn how to apply and implement into the library’s emergency management plan. This engaging workshop will offer a variety of exercises to help you retain and apply what you learned. Spend the afternoon with an emergency management expert working on a “mock” disaster in a table top exercise that will take everything you learned in the morning session and apply it immediately to a realistic library disaster event.
Special thanks to the Sterling, Virginia Belfor Office for their sponsorship of this workshop. They will also be presenting on available services to libraries during the workshop lunch provided to attendees. We hope you can join us!
