The ALA RUSA (Reference and Services Association) STARS (Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section) Legislation & Licensing Committee is pleased to announce that registration is now open for “Licensing & Resource Sharing: A Panel Discussion”.
E-resource licenses hugely impact current ILL workflows and our ability to lend to other libraries. However, ILL practitioners don’t often have a chance to take a deep dive into license negotiations or learn how other libraries are approaching ILL-related license terms, and the license teams may not understand how certain terms impact ILL workflows. This webinar is a chance to bridge the gap between electronic resource licensing and resource sharing. During this panel discussion, we’ll hear from license negotiators and resource sharing specialists who have successfully integrated resource sharing considerations into license negotiations and learn strategies for having these cross-department conversations at your own library.
Featured presenters and Q&A panelists include:
- Elizabeth Clarage, Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois
- Marc Hoffeditz, Boston Library Consortium
- Carl Piraneo, Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration, Inc.
- Jenny Taylor, Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in IllinoisÂ
The event will be on Thursday, May 23, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT. Registration is free! To register, visit here.
