The Social Responsibilities Round Table and the Government Documents Round Table present the webinar “Combating Voter Suppression: What Can Libraries Do?”. It will take place on Thursday, September 12, at 1:00 PM CDT.
Fair elections are threatened by misinformation, disinformation, intimidation and threats of violence. In this turbulent environment, the 2024 U.S. election has the potential to shape the world for many years to come.
Join the ALA Social Responsibilities Round Table (SRRT) and Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) as we discuss ways for librarians and libraries to combat voter suppression in an age of rampant disinformation. Topics include voting and election toolkits, helping your patrons discern misinformation and disinformation, and promoting civic literacy through forums/educational discussions.
