Please join Amigos Library Services for the webinar “Augmented, Virtual, and Mixed Realities: The Possibilities and Limitations”. It will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14. A description of the webinar and additional information are below.
Augmented, virtual, and mixed realities have many obvious benefits for learning, work, and social engagement. However, they also pose several ethical concerns that need consideration before they are fully embraced. It is critical for librarians to understand these realities to determine how they can be best used in the library as well as how library users may want and need to interact with them. In this session, Dr. Lauren Hays, will share examples of how augmented, virtual, and mixed realities are being used in a variety of settings. She will then lead a discussion of current use cases and potentialities for future growth. Finally, attendees will have the opportunity to brainstorm use cases in their libraries for augmented, virtual, and mixed reality technologies.
Learning Objectives
- attendees will discover ways augmented, virtual, and mixed realities are currently being used
- attendees will consider the possibilities and limitations of augmented, virtual, and mixed realities
- attendees will brainstorm ways augmented, virtual, and mixed realities can be used in library settings
