Our upcoming class, “Exploring Complementary and Integrative Health: Information, Resources, and Evaluation (CIH),” is designed to help you confidently understand the complex world of CIH. This class offers a comprehensive exploration of CIH, including both Eastern and Western perspectives, and delves into various CIH approaches, discussing their associated benefits and risks. We will introduce you to resources and information you can use to help your patrons, patients, and users navigate CIH information.
Throughout this asynchronous class, spanning three weeks on Moodle, you will gain a deep understanding of CIH, encompassing both Eastern and Western medicine viewpoints. Explore the advantages and potential risks associated with CIH practices. Equip yourself with strategies and resources to share with your users to help them discern reliable CIH information and avoid fraudulent claims.
Objectives:
- Define Complementary and Integrative Health, encompassing both Eastern and Western medicine.
- Recall various approaches to complementary and Integrative Health.
- List potential benefits and risks associated with CIH practices.
- Apply strategies to identify reliable CIH information and avoid scams.
- Navigate CIH resources effectively, including NCCIH, PubMed, and MedlinePlus.

There is no cost for this class. This asynchronous class takes place over three weeks in Moodle. There are no set hours to be online each week. It should take you about 2 hours each week.
