Registration is open for the Illinois Library Association’s Noon Network webinar “The Great North American Solar Eclipse”. It will take place on Wednesday, February 21, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM CDT. Please see below for more details, including the link to registration.
One solar eclipse down, and one to go! On Monday, April 8, 2024, an impressive solar eclipse will be visible across almost all of North America, with a narrow path that includes southern Illinois experiencing a dramatic total solar eclipse.
This will be the last total solar eclipse to cross the United States until 2044 and 2045. In our final session in a solar eclipse educational series presented by the Adler Planetarium, learn the “when,” “where,” and “how” for this incredible, and rare, celestial event.
The presenter, Michelle Nichols, is the Director of Public Observing at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL, and has worked at the Adler for 27 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University.
All ILA Noon Network webinars are free. The recordings are available to ILA personal members shortly after the webinars. Registration for all live webinars is limited to Illinois libraries.
