This year’s presidential election is shaping up to be the most contentious in history, and for some of us, our lifetime. In response, the ILA Advocacy Committee and the ILA Marketing Forum are partnering to present “Impartial and Effective Election Messaging for Libraries”, which will take place online Friday, August 9, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 M CDT.
During this event, a panel of experts will give advice and share their best practices for delivering accurate, impartial information about the 2024 election. They’ll cover topics such as candidate information and messaging in local and national races, answering community and patron inquiries about candidates and political parties, Illinois voting guidelines and rules, and how your library can serve as a resource for election information in an effective and unbiased manner.
This free event is open to all Illinois libraries. Registration is required. Go here for more information.
