(via Gwen Gregory, University of Illinois at Chicago, on behalf of Nincy George, Reaching Across Illinois Library System)
These services from the CMC (Cataloging Maintenance Center) are available to all libraries in Illinois.
My name is Nincy George and I am RAILS’s new Cataloging Services Coordinator. I am here to develop cataloging training and services and to help connect our members with existing training and services. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions or need anything related to cataloging.
Online with the CMC
Did you know that CMC provides and develops training courses that can be accessed via electronic methods, including Zoom and Moodle?
Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC) is funded by a grant from the Illinois State Library and their service is available to all Illinois Libraries.
Online with the CMC is a one-hour session with staff from the Cataloging Maintenance Center (CMC). Each session will begin with a short presentation on a general cataloging topic. The session will then be opened for questions on the presentation as well as on any cataloging topic. The presentations will not focus on any ILS, or on local practices of any library or consortia.
This month’s topic: The Fix Is In: MARC Fixed Fields. Thursday, January 17, 2019 – 10:00
