Registration is open for the Library Juice Academy asynchronous online course “Introduction to Data Visualization for Social Network Analysis”. It will take place from Monday, July 3, to Monday, October 30. The instructor is Dalal Rahme, Data Services Librarian at the American University of Beirut. The class is worth 1.5 CEUs or 15 PDHs. This course introduces theories, concept and methods of Social Network Analysis (SNA). Social Network Analysis has become a widely applied method in research investigating interactions among social agents and information. In this course students will learn how to collect data, analyze it and visualize it using Gephi, a free open tool. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand SNA concepts, collect and prepare data for SNA, and generate an SNA graph.
