Envision our future and celebrate our past at the MLA ’20 vConference, August 10-14, 2020. While the theme, “2020 Vision: The Future in Focus,” encourages us to look forward, we cannot look forward without learning from our history. The 2020 National Program Committee (NPC) spent a good deal of time reviewing past MLA evaluations and planning for changes to test at the MLA ’20 meeting. Little did the 2020 NPC know how many changes they would implement for MLA ’20 due to the COVID pandemic. Happily, the NPC believes the decisions they previously made have helped with the transition to a fully online meeting.
The 2020 NPC has planned an exciting, educational, and interesting schedule of events. A live kick-off event will take place on Monday, July 27, that will include tips to prepare for the vConference in August and recognition of award recipients. The week of Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 14, will be the live portion of the MLA ’20 vConference, when plenaries, immersion sessions, meet-ups, and most social events will take place. After the welcome and through early August, attendees will be able to view papers, posters, lightning talks, and exhibits at their leisure.
Please join us virtually on July 27, 2020, and the week of August 10, 2020, to participate in education, sharing, and friendship, including a commercial exhibition with over 100 exhibitors. Registration is now open. We look forward to seeing you.
