(via the Medical Library Association)
Registration is now open for the Medical Library Association’s April webinar “The Fundamentals of Library Program and Service Evaluation”. The session will take place on Tuesday, April 27, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM CDT. A description is below.
Assessment of teaching activities is familiar to most librarians, but how to evaluate large-scope libraries’ services, programs, or initiatives may be more abstract and unclear. This webinar will provide a step-by-step process for selecting an evaluation type, focusing the research question, planning an evaluation, data collection methods, and writing an evaluation report. Interactive activities will have you thinking critically through this process, and you’ll walk away with a library evaluation toolkit.
Learning Outcomes
- Select an appropriate evaluation type
- Plan for execution of an evaluation, from research question to logic model
- Select the most appropriate data collection method(s) for a given program and research question
- Apply strategies/tools for drafting a concise and compelling evaluation report
Audience
This session is for all levels and areas of librarianship, from directors to cataloguers. Anyone planning to evaluate a service or process will benefit. No prior skills or experience is necessary.
