Does your library have a collection of historical medical books? Have you wondered if they should be part of your general collections or part of special collections? Using the article “Evaluating a historical medical book collection” (PMC6774551) as a backdrop to discuss these questions, the Medical Library Association (MLA) Collection Development Caucus will host an informal session about the blurred lines between special collections and general collections.
Join us on Tuesday, September 10, at 12:00 PM CDT, for “Historical Medical Books: Where Do they Live in your Collections?”, via this link. Robyn Gleasner, Resource Management Librarian at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center, will facilitate a short presentation, with a discussion following.
Non-MLA members are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion. The session will not be recorded to encourage open discussion.
