LIS Pedagogy Chat is back from winter hiatus! Please join us for the next LIS Pedagogy Chat on Friday, January 26, at 1:00 PM CDT. This session’s topic is “Inclusive Pedagogy for Neurodivergent Students”, with a brief framing by Abigail Phillips (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee), followed by a facilitated discussion. Please see below for more detailed description.
How do we create inclusive classrooms for our neurodivergent students? According to the National Institute of Health, an estimated 15-20% of the world’s population displays some traits of neurodivergence. In this session, we will discuss approaches to teaching that support neurodivergent students and aid in developing inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all students. The moderator would like to acknowledge that she is neurodivergent and brings her experiences to this session.
