Please join us for the next LIS Pedagogy Chat, online Friday, December 6, at 1:00 PM CDT. The topic is “From Framework to Orthodoxy (Or, You Can’t Question This)”. See below for more information, including the link to registration.
Pedagogical best practices can offer invaluable guidance to instructors. What starts off as a set of guidelines to help guide our practice (e.g. growth mindset, trauma-informed pedagogy, even backward design), however, often gets muddied through interpretation, boiled down to a set of catchphrases, or calcified into an immutable approach that can leave instructors feeling confused and even constrained. In this session we’ll explore some of these concepts and how we can understand their intent, question them carefully, and apply them usefully.
The moderators are Laura Saunders (Simmons University) and Melissa Wong (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign). This will be the 80th LIS Pedagogy Chat overall and the last one of 2024.
