Registration is now open for Science Librarianship in the Time of COVID-19: A Virtual Half-Day Conference, hosted by the Boston Library Consortium’s (BLC) Science and Engineering Community of Interest. The Conference will take place on Wednesday, August 5, from 12:00 to 3:15 PM CDT. More information is below.
Since March 2020, science librarianship has rapidly evolved to meet changing needs as well as to comply with social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. What are the challenges of working and adapting to the so-called “new normal” of the COVID-19 era? What are the hacks, methods, or activities that you have designed or created to meet the new needs of library patrons and users? What do you anticipate evolving in the future of academic librarianship? Presenters will talk about how remote work has informed changes to reference services, pedagogy, outreach, and practice.
This virtual conference includes six 15-minute presentations and six 5-minute Lightning Talks. Speakers are science librarians from across the United States and Canada. To view the program, please go here.
Registration will be open until Monday, August 3, at 4:00 PM CDT. To register, please go here. Direct any questions to Peter Larsen, at plarsen@uri.edu.
