Remember to register for the 2024 joint USAIN and CBHL conference, “Growing Together, Branching Out”. We hope you will join us from Sunday, May 5, to Wednesday, May 8, at Michigan State University in beautiful East Lansing, Michigan, for the 19th biennial conference of the United States Agricultural Information Network (USAIN) and the first joint conference with the Council on Botanical and Horticultural Libraries (CBHL).
Here are just a few of the exciting events and opportunities we have planned. Please visit the conference website for more information.
- We will be welcoming Shiloh Maples, an Anishinaabe Educator, Community Organizer, and Seed Keeper from the Center for Regional Food Systems to deliver our keynote address on Monday, May 6.
- Our Awards Dinner will be held at the R. E. Olds Transportation Museum in downtown Lansing, where you will have a chance to learn about Michigan’s – and Lansing’s – rich history of transportation.
- Join us before the Welcome Reception on Sunday, May 5, for free tours of the MSU Main Library and the Beal Botanical Garden. Learn about some of the unique library collections and spaces at MSU, and take a stroll through the oldest, continuously operated university botanical garden in the United States.
- A post-conference workshop about Open Educational Resources is being held on Wednesday, May 8, led by MSU OER Librarian Linda Miles. Registration is required and space is limited.
- Attendees wishing to extend their visit to Michigan can join one of three excursions to some of our state’s beautiful botanical sites – Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park (a CBHL member Library!), Dow Gardens, or Hidden Lake Gardens. Registration for these tours includes transportation to and from MSU and admission to the venue.
The conference program is available on Sched, with more details about sessions being added frequently.
Registration closes on Friday, April 26. To register, please go here. The conference will take place at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center at MSU. Please go here for more information on lodging options.
