Are you new to serving distance and online students and want to expand your professional knowledge/skills? Or are you an experienced librarian willing to share your knowledge to help others develop their skills in this area? The ACRL DOLS (Distance & Online Learning Section) Mentoring and Networking Committee invites you to participate in the 2023-2024 cohort of our DOLS Mentorship Program!
We’re now accepting participants until Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
After the deadline, participants will be paired (mentor/mentee) and the mentoring program will run from September 5, 2023 until June 30, 2024.
Mentor and mentee pairs work together to develop goals for the mentee, and communicate regularly to work towards those goals. Mentors and mentees may also develop shared goals, including research projects and publications. Guiding documents are provided by the program to assist in this. Opportunities are provided at regular intervals during the program for all mentors and mentees to connect and share their experiences.
Requirements for Participation: All participants in the DOLS Mentoring Program must be (or become) current members of ACRL and DOLS, and have an interest in serving distance/online students. Mentors should have experience serving distance/online students through librarianship, research, service participation, or all three.
