Are you seeking opportunities to enhance your resume or elevate your engagement in the Illinois library community in 2024? Consider serving on an ILA committee.
Illinois Library Association Vice President/President-Elect Amy Byers will begin making appointments early in 2024, so now is the time to start thinking ahead.
Serving on an ILA committee goes beyond being a wise professional decision; it’s a chance to create a meaningful and lasting influence. ILA committees, much like ILA forums, play a crucial role in upholding ILA’s dedication to leadership, advocacy, partnership, and learning. Your service on a committee directly adds value to the enhancement of Illinois libraries, creating an impact that echoes throughout the entire Illinois library community.
Appointments begin July 1, 2024, and most committee members serve two- or three-year terms. You must be a personal member of ILA to serve on a committee. If you have any questions about a particular committee, please contact its ILA staff liaison here.
The deadline to submit a committee interest form is Friday, March 15. For more information on the different ILA committees and their roles and responsibilities, and to access the committee interest form, please go to here.
