(via RAILS)
The next RAILS member update will be Thursday, April 11, from 10 a.m.-noon. All staff members at all RAILS libraries are invited to join us at an available RAILS videoconference location or via one-way streaming video (RAILS Live). Here are five reasons why you’ll want to be there:
- Diane Foote, Executive Director of the Illinois Library Association, will join us for a discussion of the increase in the minimum wage in Illinois. We’ll talk about the facts of the situation and how RAILS and ILA can help members moving forward.
- You’ll learn how you can make your different e-book collections available to your patrons in one place and at no cost, whether you are a standalone library or a consortia member.
- You’ll get an update on Explore More Illinois, our new online cultural attractions pass program that debuted on April 1, and learn how your library can get involved.
- You’ll hear more about how RAILS is planning to help libraries of all types and sizes to prove their value to their various stakeholders. This was a top concern we heard from members during our strategic plan revision process last year.
- Members from different types of RAILS libraries will share news about collaborative projects that you can replicate with your community of users, including partnerships to supply “book bundles” for young elementary school readers to enjoy, to help children learn social and emotional learning skills, and to help children ages 5-12 learn coding and programming skills.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to share the latest news from their libraries. View complete agenda. Register today!
