Don’t miss the Amigos Library Services’ online conference, Healthy Habits: Cultivating Health and Wellness in Libraries and Communities on Thursday, October 10 featuring keynote speaker Jenn Carson. Healthy habits matter. Unfortunately, navigating accurate health information to develop and practice suitable healthy habits is often difficult. Both as information professionals and centers of the community, libraries are in a unique position to inform their communities, students, and staff about health and wellness as well as encourage and aid its implementation.
Carson will kick off the conference with “Taking Care of Us: Ergonomic Advice for Library Staff.” While attending this session, you will learn how to de-stress at your desk, maintain proper posture, avoid injury, and regulate your emotions through breathing, stretching, and other techniques. Director of the L.P. Fisher Public Library in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, Carson is an internationally recognized expert in physical literacy, award-winning author, and yoga teacher. The creator of the popular website [www.yogainthelibrary.com]www.yogainthelibrary.com, Carson also blogs for the American Library Association.
