This is a reminder that the National Network of Libraries of Medicine – Greater Midwest Region will be holding a webinar at 1:00 PM today, September 1, to provide background on applying for the awards that the GMR is currently offering. More information about each award, including the amount and the application deadline, follows. Note that the application deadline for all four awards is Friday, September 12.
Emergency Preparedness Award
Purpose: promote emergency preparedness through partnerships between state library organizations, public libraries, and local health departments and/or first responders through training of National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources
Amount: up to $10,000
Number Offered: 3
Application Deadline: Friday, September 12
Express Outreach Award
Purpose: develop and implement outreach and education programs focused on National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources that reach health professionals and consumers in the region
Amount: up to $10,000
Number Offered: 5

Technology Improvement Award
Purpose: increase the number of network members able to actively and effectively participate in National Library of Medicine (NLM) programs and services within the GMR
Amount: up to $5,000
Number Offered: 5

Professional Development Award
Purpose: ensure that network members keep current on health sciences information topics and National Library of Medicine (NLM) resources
Amount: up to $2,000
Number Offered: 8
