Instructional Design for Today’s Student
Instructional Design (ID) can call to mind different things depending on the industry, one’s role, or the given task at hand. Our conference this year will feature keynote speaker Kimberly Davies Hoffman, who will delve in to the pedagogical theory, practice, and philosophy of ID, and engage us in strengthening our instruction toolkit.
Kimberly Davies Hoffman serves as the University of Rochester’s Head of Outreach, Learning, and Research Services at the River Campus Libraries. With interests in engaging pedagogy, instructional design, assessment, and creating professional development opportunities, she has been a founding member for programs like LILAC, the 3Ts, and RYSAG. She currently plays a lead role for the pedagogy team of the ARL Digital Scholarship Institute.
The Connecticut Information Literacy Conference Committee invites you and your colleagues to submit proposals for breakout workshops (45-50 minutes long with a 10-15 minute Q & A session).
Proposals may address the following areas.
- scalable instruction
- scaffolding
- distance learning
- instruction tools
- remediation
- active learning
- what to do when you are an ID team of 1
- assessment
- any other Instructional Design topic
Team presenters such as faculty-librarian are highly encouraged to submit a proposal.
We encourage proposals from out-of-state colleagues.
For consideration, please submit this form by March 09, 2018. Benefits to the presenters include eligibility for one-half conference registration fee for up to two presenters and the opportunity to build your presentation experience and receive valuable feedback from your colleagues. Accepted proposals will be notified on or about March 26, 2018. Questions regarding proposals should be directed to Pamela Graham at pamela.r.graham@uscga.edu.
