The University of Chicago’s John Crerar Library has been chosen as one of the locations to host a Medical Library Association webinar, “Instructional Design for Medical Librarians”. The webinar will take place on Wednesday, December 2, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM CST. The University of Chicago was selected by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine – Greater Midwest Region, which is sponsoring host sites for three MLA webinars. The other two webinars are “Precision Medicine: What Is It and Why Should I Care?”, which will be held on Wednesday, December 9, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM CST; and “EHR Integration”, the date of which has not been announced yet. Of the 12 sites chosen to host one of the three webinars, the University of Chicago is the only location in Illinois.
Anyone interested in attending the webinar at John Crerar Library should contact Deb Werner, at dwerner@uchicago.edu, or go here to register. “Instructional Design for Medical Librarians” will cover the basics of instructional design, determining which educational technologies to use for instructional-design projects, and applying the principles of instructional design to create a brief tutorial.
