This is a reminder that the deadline to apply for an ACRL STS (Science & Technology Section) committee is Tuesday, February 28. If this is your second year serving on or chairing a committee, and you want to continue to serve, you still need to volunteer to re-up or switch committees here (requires logging in to one’s ALA account).
Questions about the different committees? You can access past “Year in the Life” updates via ALA Connect or the STS Committees’ LibGuide. You can also watch the 1/24/2023 recording of the Why I Serve program, which gives an overview of many of the committees’ work.
Committees are where most of the work of the Section gets done – programming, publications, planning – we need your time and input! This is also a great way to make connections to other science librarians. When you volunteer, I would encourage you to check off as many STS committees as interest you. Unless you specify otherwise, you will only be assigned to one committee. Right now, we especially need volunteers for Government Information, Publications, Liaisons, Organization and Planning, and Publisher/Vendor Relations.
